In July 2022 Steve lectured at the prestigious MINDS convention in Newcastle, England. It was an honour to be asked, and Steve designed his lecture to blend some of his very best published material with extended ideas and routines that had never been shared before. The lecture was very well received and will be remembered for a long time by those who were fortunate enough to be there. To support what he covered Steve originally planned to produce a small set of lecture notes . . . but as the project expanded he felt that he really wanted to go into greater detail and fully do justice to the material that he intended to share. The result is Redundant Mind. It features six effects and contains material to suit all performing situations. As fans of his work have become used to, each effect contains original principles and techniques that have been devised by Steve and can be applied in countless other situations. And every item looks super clean – that comes as standard in Steve’s thinking! These are cutting edge routines from one of the rising stars of mentalism.

Z List Celebrities - An incredible, hands off, breakthrough stage routine. 50 or more envelopes are distributed by an audience member. The audience open them and call out what is written on the slips inside. One person just thinks of theirs instead and the performer can tell them exactly what they are thinking of. From across the room! The envelopes are regular, ungimmicked and unmarked. The information inside is genuinely different in each one. Everything is examinable and the performer never touches anything. Fully customisable and self contained, No assistants required.

Redundant - an incredible, reputation making CAAN routine. It’s the cleanest routine Steve has ever produced. It’s floored rooms full of magicians / mentalists many times. He’s been asked over and over again to release it. He kept it to himself for many years but agreed to include it at MINDS as a thank you for the honour of being asked to lecture. It’s the routine that Steve is most proud of. Now it’s finally time to share!

One envelope, clearly shown in a wallet and handed to a participant to look after from the start. One pack of cards, held by the participant from the start. No gimmicks, no duplicates – they can even take the deck home!

The participant visualises a number line and names a number from 1 to 50. They open the case. They remove the cards. They count to that number. They check every other card in the deck, front and back.

The wallet is opened and the envelope is in exactly the same place shown at the beginning. It is cleanly removed at fingertips and opened (this could be done by the participant). A single card can be seen inside. The participant removes it and turns it over to show that it matches their chosen card. There is no switch and no loading of the card. Devastating, hard hitting mentalism at its best.

Don't Feel Out of Place – the perfect routine for a group using a borrowed, shuffled pack of cards. No set up required. A target card is removed from the centre, then returned and the cards are given a single overhand shuffle by the performer. The participant takes the cards and then correctly guesses the exact position where the target card is in the deck. This hands off miracle features another new principle where the participant makes everything happen for themself! It can easily be adapted to words, countries, numbers etc. instead of playing cards.

We Are All Venn Diagrams – Another super clean close up miracle. The performer writes a prediction on a blank card. The participant is asked three 50/50 questions about their character. The participant turns over the prediction without the performer touching it, and the performer has successfully predicted every one of their answers in advance. The method is completely unique and unlike anything you have ever seen before! It works as a standalone piece, but for those people who like to give readings it’s the perfect ice breaker effect to lead into a longer routine.

Update March 2022: Lost for Words originally came with the book, gimmicks and a set of blank business cards. To keep postage costs down to a minimum for everyone as shipping prices have continued to increase, the business cards will no longer be included as part of the Lost for Words package. Everything else is complete, and ourchasers will just need to either use their own business cards or other blank pieces of card (any size, colour etc.) As a result of this change, I have also reduced the price to pass on the saving to customers.
